Science in the News Presents — Our Future in the Cosmos: Living Beyond Earth

Have you ever dreamed of being an astronaut or living on another planet? Do movies like The Martian, Interstellar, and Passengers make you jump (weightlessly) for joy? Us too! But how close are we to boldly going where no one has gone before? Three Yale scientists will discuss the reality of space travel and colonizing planets. How do we find planets outside of our solar system? If we found a planet that could be our new home, what technology would we need to make the journey? And once we reached the planet, what would it take live there? We’d like to thank you for choosing Science in the News and we hope you enjoy learning about your future in the cosmos!

Science in the News is a free, public lecture series given by Yale graduate students that aims to deconstruct complex scientific topics and explain them in a way that is easy to understand. Our goal is to make science fun and accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. We want to provide people with a better understanding of the science underpinning many of the complex issues we hear about in the news every day.
